ABOUT
Pando Strategies
Our name is derived from Pando, the world's largest living organism, a networked stand of Aspen trees in the state of Utah. Spanning over 100 acres, some say Pando could be nearly 100,000 years old, but due to climate change and human effects, Pando is dying. We believe Pando to be the perfect analogy to the networked communications infrastructure that now touches almost every human, the first steps towards a biosphere consciousness, while at the same time, echoing the mounting, urgent and incredible challenges we face as a species due to accelerating climate change.
Big Ideas: At Pando, we believe at our core that the technology sector, working closely with cross sector partners including other corporates, NGOs and governments, holds a an outsized opportunity towards achieving the 2030 SDGs. By bringing forward big ideas and projects to help transform our infrastructure, we can also help spur economic growth and positively affect a large swath of the SDGs.
Inspiring Small Changes Multiplied by Billions: At the same time, we look to bring the consumer into the equation and, that technology has a unique role to occupy. As modern technology now reaches more than half of world and billions of customers, we can look to those relationships to advocate for the making small changes on a daily basis, influencing the small steps that, taken together, add up to huge results.
From health care to finance and banking to environmental savings and economic stimulus through remote work programs, there is so much that recent advances in technology can do to move us towards true sustainability. But we are running out of time, it's 2030 or Bust, and the time is now to act. Everything we do at Pando is to help make this opportunity a reality, to inspire and move us towards a better world.
